The 2014 Hardcore 24 was my best race to date, completing 20 brutal laps with under 45 minutes of stopped time (just to shove food down my face, pee, and switch light batteries) over the entire 24 hours. Still, it was not enough to take the win against 34 other Hardcore Solo Male competitors; but I’ll happily settle for 2nd! The field was much deeper and more competitive than in years past. It was much more fun (and challenging) to race against such a tough group. Big thanks to Abbey Alexiades for providing race support. This race provided some much needed endurance training for the upcoming Trans North Georgia Adventure (TNGA)– 350 miles of trail and forest roads; nonstop, no support with 55,000 of elevation gain in Georgia, in August… Ouch!
